PPL in Nottinghamshire

PPL is an experienced provider of support and guidance for people who receive direct payments. Our Midlands-based teams will offer you a personalised service to ensure you have choice and control over your care & support package.

PPL Portal Migration

In early September, we started the process of introducing the PPL Portal to individuals who have a managed account or payroll services with PPL.

The first step in the process was to transition the contact form from its previous location into the PPL Portal.

On Monday 9th November 2026, we will complete the final step of the transition, which will see all managed account and payroll arrangements move into the PPL Portal.

What is the PPL Portal?

PPL Portal is a secure web-based solution, that supports individuals, providers and funding authorities to manage direct payment funding simply and transparently.

Thousands of individuals are already benefiting from the ability to manage their direct payment funding online, retaining all the advantages of a direct payment, whilst reducing the administrative burden often associated with a direct payment.

Individuals with a 'managed' account

Our name for 'managed accounts' is 'supported accounts', as we believe this better reflects the way in which we support you to manage your direct payment independently.

The process of transferring your supported account to the PPL Portal will be completed on your behalf - there is nothing you need to do and there will be no change to the way in which PPL support you:

  • If you previously managed your account via telephone with the PPL team, then you will continue to do so.

  • If you previously managed your account using the 'contact form', you have been sent an email that confirms the login details for your PPL Portal account.

If you have not received this email, or would like access to manage your account online, you will need to contact the PPL team.

PPL Payroll - Information for Employers

Where PPL provide you with payroll support, there will be some changes to the way in which your PA's timesheets are submitted to PPL and approved by you as the employer.

From Monday 9th November, PA's will need to log into their own PPL Portal account to submit timesheets for approval by you as the employer.

The simplest way for you to review and approve these timesheets is by logging into your own PPL Portal account. If this isn't possible, or you require any assistance, the PPL team will be able to support you.

It is important to note that there will be no change to either the timesheet submission deadline, or the date on which your PA will be paid.

How the timesheet submission and approval process works:

  1. PPL sets up timesheet templates for each PA that reflects the hours and rates of pay agreed in their contract of employment.

  2. Each PA updates their timesheet for the current pay period using the PPL Timesheet App. Your PA will submit a single timesheet that covers the entire pay period, but we would suggest that you encourage your PA to update their timesheet weekly.

  3. At the end of the pay period, your PA finalises and submits their timesheet. Once the timesheet is submitted, you will receive an email notification advising that there is a timesheet for review and approval.

  4. You log into your PPL Portal account and either approve or reject the timesheet. It is essential that you do this in advance of the agreed timesheet submission deadline.

  5. When the timesheet is approved, it is automatically made available to the PPL Payroll team for processing in line with your agreed pay dates.

Further information on how to approve timesheets within the PPL Portal is available on our support hub, which can be accessed HERE.

Next steps for employers
  1. Check your access to the PPL Portal - please ensure that both you and your PA have received your PPL Portal login details by email. If either of you has not received these details, please contact the PPL team.

  2. Check that your PA has downloaded the PPL Timesheet App - if they have not yet downloaded the app, they can do so via the PPL Support Hub, which can be accessed here.

  3. Look out for a follow-up email from PPL - before 5pm on Tuesday 3rd November, both you and your PA will receive an email which will confirm details of your specific timesheet approval and payment dates for the coming pay period. These dates will be aligned to your agreed payroll schedule and will help to ensure that the first pay run via the PPL Portal runs smoothly and your PA is paid on time.

  4. Start using the new timesheet process - From Thursday 5th November 2026, your PA will be able to log in to the PPL Timesheet App and begin completing their timesheet for the current pay period. They should submit their timesheet to you for approval before the agreed submission deadline.

PPL Payroll - Information for Personal Assistants

From Monday 9th November, the way in which you and your employer submit timesheets to PPL Payroll will change.

It will be your responsibility to submit a timesheet for hours worked to your employer for them to review and approve - you will do this by logging into your own PPL Portal account.

To help make this process as simple as possible, PPL have developed an app specifically for Personal Assistants which can be downloaded via our support hub, which is available by clicking HERE.

It is important to note that there will be no change to either the date by which your timesheets need to be approved for processing, or the date on which you will be paid.

How the timesheet submission and approval process works:

  1. PPL sets up timesheet templates for you that reflect the hours and rates of pay agreed in your contract of employment.

  2. You update your timesheet for the current pay period using the PPL Timesheet App. You will submit a single timesheet that covers the entire pay period, but we would suggest that you update your timesheet weekly.

  3. At the end of the pay period, you finalise and submit your timesheet. Once your timesheet is submitted, your employer will receive an email notification advising that there is a timesheet for them to review and approve.

  4. Your employer logs into their PPL Portal account and either approves or rejects the timesheet. If your employer rejects the timesheets, they will be asked to provide a reason for doing so and you will have the ability to resubmit the timesheet once amended.

  5. When the timesheet is approved by your employer, it is automatically made available to the PPL Payroll team for processing in line with your agreed pay dates.

Further information on how to submit timesheets within the PPL Portal is available on our support hub, which can be accessed HERE.
